What to do in Boston unusual and particular?
Why not to think about the tour of a place which allows to enter more deeply the complex world of the American politics and so learn the articulated dynamics through a series of exciting multimedia experiences to enjoy strictly personally?
Like the EMK Institute, the “democracy lab”, wanted by John Fitzgerald Kennedy’s brother – Senator Edward Kennedy – in order to teach the new generation not only the art of politics, but also the history, the public procedures and the social and cultural evolutions of the American Senate.
“To preserve our vibrant democracy for future generations,
I believe it is important to have a place where citizens can learn personally the role of Senate in our government”
(Senator Edward M. Kennedy)
“The EMK Institute for the U.S. Senate is dedicated to the education of public about our government,
the strengthening of the public speech and the encouraging of the participatory democracy,
to inspire and form the next generation of citizens and leaders.”
(EMK Institute, introduction to the visit)
Try to imagine a sort of school where to prepare the next generations – and not only – to the politics world.
An institute accessible to everyone where to set out on an exciting journey back in time – strictly in 3D – into the history of the American Senate: from the birth of the single states until nowadays discovering close up the most important political offices and personalities of the USA.
Also passing through the narration of the figure of the late senator Ted Kennedy, the creator and the soul of the EMK. Right during the tour, it is possible to stop and visit his private studio and see a series of relics tied to his career.
The most exciting activity to do once entered it is certainly setting out on a short multimedia path to become senator of an American State at your choice – through a personalized tablet where all your data and your preferences will be put. And also enter the American political system in all respects, promote new legislative projects, and get credits to obtain your nomination.
What about the award for getting the Senator seat?
You can give a final speech in the Senate of he United States of America – in a faithful reconstruction in scale with even the audience – exposing freely your ideas and impressions, and talk virtually to the President of the United States himself, too.
I must admit it: a great emotion, besides an exciting experience and definitely out of the ordinary.
Extremely recommended, above all for families with children (the section dedicated is really well done) and teenagers, and/or students of international politics.
