Before choosing the district and select the hotel where to sleep in Las Vegas it is necessary to keep in mind some elements tied to the dynamics and the tourist ideas of the city.

Always check – once chosen the dates – that the period of your visit in Las Vegas doesn’t coincide with particular events, festivities and/or vacations. In this case the accommodations’ prices could double, so it is advisable (where possible) to modify the dates of the stay. Or another solution is booking well in advance in order to ensure the best fares.

Remember that all the facilities in Las Vegas – Resort & Casino, Hotels and Motels – offer discounted fares for overnight stays from Sunday night until Thursday night, while at the weekends the prices for rooms each night (on Friday and Saturday night precisely) increase remarkably. So, if you have flexible dates, it would be suitable to sleep in Las Vegas during the week.

In case you decide to stay overnight in Hotel & Casino, that is in the most part of the facilities of the Strip and in good part of the Downtown ones, you know that you’ll have to pay an extra Resort Fee each room – besides the fee already paid – for using Wi-Fi and swimming pool and solarium services. It varies – according to the category and the prestige of the hotel – from $20 to $50 per night. Hotels with no Casino and Motels are not included in the Resort Fee.

When you are going to book, always try – where it is possible, of course – to look for fares of facilities including parking. Otherwise, the extra fee for car per day can vary from $20 to $30 in the most required Resort & Casino as far as $10/15 dollars in the ordinary Hotels. Usually Motels offer free parking.

The Sin City of Nevada or simply Vegas – the nicknames of the city preferred by Americans and locals – offers mainly three well defined areas where to choose the accommodation: the Strip, Downtown and the area immediately adjoining the McCarran International Airport. Let’s see in detail.

• The Strip – the most in demand area by far (and consequently very expensive) by tourist and visitors who are going to enjoy the long Las Vegas nights between gamble and shows. Here you’ll find mostly Resort & Casino overlooking directly South Las Vegas Blvd, the most famous, lighted and photographed street of the city.
• Downtown – moving a few kilometers to the north of the Strip, you’ll find yourselves in the heart of the old Las Vegas, the original core of the city, definitely the most peaceful and economic one compared to the Strip. The must is the possibility to stay at the historical Casino of the city and be able to reach on foot the Fremont Street Experience.

• McCarran International Airport area – a definitely more peaceful and economic area where to stay, behind the Strip. Here you’ll find a wide range of Hotels and Motels, besides the Resort & Casino.

Resort (or Hotels) & Casino, Hotels, Motels, the choice of the facilities where to sleep in Las Vegas is definitely wide. Always reckon that the city – except for the locals – grants a cover of about 200.000 bedrooms for tourist and visitors.

A bit of clearness to make the choice easier:

• Resort (or Hotels) & Casino – are the most in demand facilities for who visits Las Vegas. The Casino has inside also Hotels built following a main theme ranging from the most famous European cities as far as New York, the ancient Egypt, the Movies, the most unrestrained luxury and so much more. They are almost all in the Strip and Downtown. My favorite ones by far for aesthetics are The Bellagio and The Venetian, for the comfort and the buffet my favorite ones are The Wynn and the Planet Hollywood. I recommend you also the Downtown Grand Ascend Hotel, which has a very good quality-price-service ratio.
• Hotels – Chain Hotels that you can find in several areas of the city. Since they haven’t got the Casino, they don’t apply the Resort Fee and so they are definitely cheaper.
• Motels – classic American Chain Motels. They are located mostly outside the Strip, don’t apply the Resort Fee and often and however parking, breakfast and Wi-Fi are included.
